“Rahy” in Hindi means traveller, wayfarer, explorer……
Also it is an acronym for our names – Ripa–And–Hiren–Haard–Youg–Sanghvi(last name). Hiren and Ripa are husband and wife with a penchant for travelling. Blessed with two wonderful adventurous boys, willing to participate in their parents’ madness, we together go on expeditions.
Who we are!
Ripa – She holds a Post graduate degree in Engineering (Masters in Technology in Electronics and Telecommunications), also a writer for Rahys Travel Diaries. A mother and a wife she also fulfills the role of a PMO analyst in an instrumentation company in Mumbai.
“While growing up, I was never a big traveler. I think our first big trip as a family was when I was 15 years old, after that we had a couple of more trips and then I went off to college. Even then, traveling wasn’t something which I did with friends. My first overseas trip was to Dubai when I was 22. I married Hiren at a young age of 24 and settled with him in Boston. He is someone who loves traveling and got that bug into me as well. Together we now explore the world”
Ripa
Hiren – A post graduate in Management (Entrepreneurship from Babson College, Boston), also holds a Master’s Degree in Polymer Engineering (University of Eastern Michigan), now settled with his corporate job in Mumbai, India.
“My parents used to love traveling and took me and my 3 elder siblings on several trips. So traveling has been my passion since childhood. During my decade old stay in the USA, I have traveled pretty much the whole country – undertaken several road trips on RVs. Having Ripa as my life partner fired my passion for traveling, as she participated in every trip zealously. We returned to Mumbai in 2006 and had to take on simple trips with 2 little kids. Fortunately, these boys grew up to be as adventurous as us and our expeditions continue..”
Hiren
Youg – First born of Ripa and Hiren. Loves slow travel and willing to participate in our adventures. Currently studying in Undergraduate college in University of Southern California, LA.
Haard – Second angel to enter into the lives of Ripa and Hiren, needs a balance between slow travel and luxury travel. Enthusiastically plans itinerary for a fun filled vacation. Currently in High School and preparing for his college admissions.
